The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society will host a performance of “Music in the New Nation: Popular Songs & Tunes during America’s Founding Years” tonight, Thursday, July 3, beginning at 7 o’clock.
This concert by Ampersand, a family trio from eastern Maryland, features American folk and historical music with soaring vocal harmonies and traditional string instruments such as guitar, banjo, mandolin, cello, and hammered dulcimer.
The program takes place indoors at Lebanon Baptist Church, 20 Alfonso Road, Lancaster, in the historic sanctuary built circa 1840. All ages are welcome.
