ALEC DEAN RAMMELL

God said, "He would lend for a little while this child of mine" and on Sunday, June 3, 2012 God called his son, Alec Dean Rammell of Hayes to come home with Him.

Alec had just celebrated his eleventh birthday on June 1, 2012. Alec loved spending time with his mom on Sunday nights in their pjs watching their favorite shows and eating popcorn. He loved to eat at Wendy’s, especially chicken nuggets and fries. He also enjoyed his fruits, hot dogs and loved his Mac and Cheese. He loved playing with his Star Wars figures, Legos, trains, spending time and fishing with his dad and visiting his grandparents. Alec also had his special time with his Poppop and Mawmaw.

At his beloved Achilles, Alec will be remembered best for his contagious and ever-present smile, his quirky sense of humor, and his daily hugs. He had just graduated from fifth grade, but told his teachers he didn’t want to leave them. They could not imagine they would be saying good-bye again so soon. Alec was well loved and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Nichole Jenkins; father, Nathan Dean Rammell; maternal grandparents, Cheryl Wiggins and Donnie Jenkins; paternal grandparents, Robert and Deborah Derosier; maternal great-grandparents, Charles and Nancy Wiggins; aunts, Sherrie Knoller and Lanette Rammell; uncle, Michael Jenkins, and a host of cousins.

A Celebration of Life service conducted by the Rev. Bill West will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family will receive friends tonight. In Alec’s memory, contributions may be given to the Alec Rammell Scholarship Fund, Achilles Elementary School, 9306 Guinea Road, Hayes, Va. 23072.
