ALBERT AMMIE PIRKLE

Our family is in mourning after the passing of Master Sergeant Albert Ammie Pirkle, 87, on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

He served his country proudly from 1951-1971, completing tours in Vietnam and traveling to over 40 countries during his career. After his retirement from Langley Air Force Base, he attended Hampton Institute where he graduated with honors, 14th in his class of 685, with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He taught sixth grade for 20 years at Gloucester Middle School. He was greatly admired and respected by his family, friends, colleagues, students and everyone who knew him. He was a man of integrity, honor and loyalty.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he joins his wife, Pauline Pirkle, at the right hand of God.

He leaves behind a sister, Ossie; three daughters, Alicia, Lorrie and Jenny; six grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica, Misti, Jeffrey, Briana and Katelynne, as well as two great-grandchildren, Patrick and Reagan.

No words can truly express the loss of this great man and how much he will be missed. He remains in our hearts forevermore. We love so much. You were our ROCK. Godspeed.
