Aeronautical group to have program about helicopters

The Northern Neck–Middle Peninsula chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society will present a program on the history of tandem rotor helicopters at its next luncheon meeting, which will be held next Thursday, April 17, at the Pilot House Restaurant in Topping.
John Priest, one of the group’s longtime members, will discuss tandem rotor helicopters from the early development by Frank Piasecki to the CH-47F (Chinook) of today.
A meet-and-greet period will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the buffet lunch at noon and the program at 12:30 p.m. The restaurant is located adjacent to Hummel Field on Route 3.
Everyone interested in aviation is invited. The group meets on the third Thursday of the month for a luncheon meeting at the restaurant. For more information, email NelsonJody@verizon.net. Be sure to include “VAHS” in the subject line.
