Animal Care Society in Mathews recently donated funds to a pair of local animal organizations. In photo below, Sonja Fitzgerald, kneeling, of Tri County Pitbull Rescue, North, receives a $1,200 donation from ACS president Mary Stephens. Above, Stephens presents a $5,000 check to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. “Toby,” a 4-month-old mixed breed pup, was on hand to accept the gift.
