Abingdon Episcopal to hold free Thanksgiving meal

Abingdon Episcopal Church, on Route 17 in White Marsh, invites the community to its annual Thanksgiving Day dinner. The dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 28, at the parish house next to the church. Admission is free and open to all in the community. No reservations are necessary.

Members of Abingdon Church and its rector, the Rev. Sven vanBaars, are again offering an open community Thanksgiving Day dinner “to bring people together to celebrate our community and to give thanks for the bounty that God has provided,” a release stated.

The church has been celebrating Thanksgiving in this manner for more than 20 years. Abingdon Church members and other volunteers in the area prepare and serve many meals for anyone in the community. The church opens its doors to everyone in the community for a free traditional Thanksgiving meal.
