Abingdon Day

Abingdon Episcopal Church, White Marsh, opened to the public on Saturday for its annual Abingdon Day community celebration. This year’s program featured 40 vendors, as well as a display of antique cars. Abingdon Church had several booths, which included Outreach, Youth Ministries, face-painting, and hair tinsel. Also present were the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic, Gloucester Rotary Club, GUEST, and Machicomoco State Park. Additionally, there were raffles, food sales, music and cakewalks. A children’s play area was set up for young attendees. The church was open for tours and a brief PowerPoint presentation about its lengthy history and renovations. The purpose of Abingdon Day was to engage with the community and, in turn, let the community get to know the church.
