Bill Hudgins GMC celebrates 50 years

Bill Hudgins GMC will mark a half-century in business on Monday. Bill Hudgins, owner and president of his namesake business, started the dealership on May 10, 1971 with his late brother John after purchasing F.A. Clements and Son car agency. The business has moved twice in the last 50 years, and has been at its current location since 1989. Much like other businesses, this past year has been a challenging one for the Gloucester dealership. The pandemic slowed down the manufacturing of vehicles, and Bill Hudgins GMC has struggled to keep their inventory up for both new and used cars. Hudgins said that he’s had people ask him if he was closing because of the lack of inventory. He assures them that he is not. He said that despite the lack of inventory, sales have still been good, which he attributes to the excellent service his salesmen provide.
