The Mathews VA250 Committee and the Court House Players donated $8,300, half of the proceeds from the recent production of the musical “Crickets on a Hill,” to the scholarship fund named in honor of the late Judy Ward, who wrote the script and the songs for the show as part of the 1976 American Bicentennial celebration in Mathews. Presentation of the check was made on Saturday, when cast and crew of the show and members of the two organizations met for the debut screening of the video of the show at the Cobbs Creek Arts Center. The live production was seen by over 1,400 people in July.
