The Gloucester Branch of the NAACP continued its Pathways to Leadership seminar series on Aug. 27 with a session focused on how Gloucester County administers elections and manages planning, zoning and environmental programs. The sixth seminar in the series was held at Shepherdsville Baptist Church and featured presentations from Gloucester Electoral Board chair Evan Farmer and vice chair Vincent Haley, Planning, Zoning and Environmental Programs Director Anne Ducey-Ortiz and Assistant Director Carol Rizzio. Elections Farmer and Haley outlined the role of the Gloucester Electoral Board and the Registrar’s Office in administering local elections. They discussed election security, public accountability and the need for Officers of Election to help voting run effectively and efficiently across the county.
