Registration is open for the Guinea Jubilee 5K and Kids’ Crabby Fun Run, to be held Saturday, Sept. 26, as part of the Guinea Jubilee. The run and fun run are open for all ages and abilities. Proceeds support the Guinea Heritage Association’s work to preserve the history, culture and traditions of the Guinea community, and help fund scholarships for local students. Race day begins at 7 a.m. with packet pickup and same-day registration, followed by the 5K at 8 a.m. and the 1-Mile Kids Crabby Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. Both flat courses start near the Guinea Volunteer Fire Department on Mark Pine Road and finish at the Buck Rowe’s Store Museum, Bena. Awards will be presented to the overall top male and female 5K finishers, along with the top male and female runners in multiple age divisions. Every child who completes the Kids Crabby Fun Run earns a finisher medal, and all registered participants receive a performance race shirt while supplies last.
