Born on November 22, 1933 in Long Branch, N.J., Marge spent most of her life in Eatontown, N.J. She graduated from Long Branch High School in 1951.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 71 years, Warren Stewart “Sandy” Sandbach; her parents, Louis “Al” Wagner and Cora Lewis Wagner, and her sisters, Dorothy Wagner Noon, Evelyn Wagner, Ruth Wagner Brand, and Barbara Wagner.

Marge is survived by her children, Janet Sandbach Davidson (Dave) of Ardmore, Okla., and Norman Sandbach (Beth) of Saluda, Va.; grandchildren, Eric Davidson (Lezi), Megan Davidson Shah (Eric), Craig Davidson (Elizabeth), Christine Sandbach (Jackie Carter) and Paul Sandbach; great-grandchildren, Eli, Asa, Livy, Cade, Oscar, Frankie, and Crosby.

Marge was affectionately known as “Mom-Mom” to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marge was a lifelong member of St. James Memorial Church in Eatontown where she was baptized, confirmed and married. Marge served St. James Episcopal Church for years as a choir member, treasurer, event organizer, Sunday School teacher and lay reader, giving generously of her time and talents.

Marge worked in banking throughout much of her career, at both Central Jersey Bank & Trust Company and Eatontown National Bank, where she was known for her dedication and kindness. When she retired, Marge prepared individual income tax returns at H&R Block.

Marge was an active member of the International Order of Rainbow Girls and the Order of Eastern Star in N.J. She maintained friendships connected to the Eatontown Volunteer Fire Company community. In June 2022, she moved to Gloucester, Va., where she joined Ware Episcopal Church. The entire congregation at Ware Church welcomed Marge, making sure she had transportation to Sunday services.

Marge found joy in life’s simple and treasured moments. She needlepointed personalized Christmas stockings for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marge loved gardening, traveling and, most of all, spending time with family and friends. She and Sandy hosted backyard gatherings for family and friends where many children learned to swim in their pool. Her warmth, quiet strength, loyalty and caring spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to thank Sanders Assisted Living, Heron Cove 2 and Riverside Hospice for the care provided for Marge.

A memorial service will be held on October 5, 2026 at 11 a.m. in Ware Episcopal Church. Andrews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
