A number of local Christchurch School spring athletes have been recognized with Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association All-State honors. Trey Fitchett, son of Joey and Nina Fitchett of Saluda, earned second team All-State honors for baseball. The softball team had a number of players winning All-State honors, led by sophomore Avery West, the daughter of Patrick and Jennifer West of Gloucester Point. West was named the VISAA Division II Softball Player of the Year. The pitcher led the team—in only its third year—to a winning record with victories over Isle of Wight, Atlantic Shores Christian, Saint Gertrude, Collegiate, Westmoreland, Northumberland, Catholic, Lancaster, Southampton Academy, Rappahannock, Greenbrier Christian, Trinity Episcopal, and Kenston Forest.
