85 participate in Timberneck 5K

The fourth annual Timberneck 5K welcomed 85 participants to Machicomoco State Park, Hayes, on Saturday morning. The race was sponsored by Peninsula Track Club. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Fairfield Foundation for the preservation and restoration of the historic Timberneck house. Top race finishers include the following: Men’s Overall—Tim Case of Williamsburg placed first overall, finishing with a time of 18:53 and setting a new record for Men 40-44; Timothy Suhr of Colquitt, Georgia, placed second, finishing with a time of 19:08 and setting a new record for Men 55-59; and Kelvin Anderson of Newport News placed third, finishing with a time of 19:34 and setting a new record for Men 65-69.
