3,000+ attend this year’s East Riverfest

Thousands of visitors flocked to Williams Wharf Landing in Mathews for this year’s East Riverfest, as organizers reported more than 3,000 attendees enjoying a day filled with seafood, competition, music and waterfront excitement. According to event organizer Neal Hudgins, the festival was a tremendous success, drawing large crowds while maintaining a safe and family-friendly atmosphere. “We had over 3,000 attendees, no injuries, and a great safe day,” Hudgins said. “It was an awesome event for the Mathews Volunteer Fire Department and Mathews County.” One of the festival’s most anticipated attractions was the boat docking competition, where captains tested their precision and skill on the water. Taking first place was Captain Jake Jacob aboard Outlaw. Danny Haddaway aboard Hard to Handle earned second place, while Sydney Hughes aboard Wild Child finished third.
