50th anniversary celebration continues for Li’l Ole Opry

In keeping with the celebration of their big anniversary this year, Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will once again reminisce its 50 years during Saturday’s show by highlighting songs by artists who have played the Mathews’ Opry.
And there’s a twist … a few songs will be done by artists from the Grand Ole Opry, but not the Li’l Ole Opry … and there will be a quiz, a release promised.
This show will highlight songs sung and/or written by national and local artists who have graced their stage and will feature the house band, Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers plus several special guests.
The group will be performing at Mathews High School’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30. Ticket prices are $15 for all adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under and can be purchased in advance at the Mathews Visitor Center in Mathews and Marketplace Antiques on Route 17 in Hayes. As always, tickets are available at the door on show night, starting at 6:30....
