350 Gloucester students take part in division-wide science fair

The Gloucester County Public Schools Science and Engineering Fair attracted 350 student entries and brought out a crowd of spectators to view the projects on Saturday at Gloucester High School.

Elementary pupils and students from Peasley Middle School competed in the junior division while Gloucester High School students competed in the senior division. Winners in their respective categories were as follows:

Animal Science—juniors, first place, Cameron Gray and Becca Pike, Peasley; second, Tyler Britt, Walker Elementary; seniors, first, Rose Diana Frechette; second, Destiny Gray;

Behavioral and Social Science—juniors, first, Alex Teller and Megan Eckstein, Peasley; second, Anna Siegle and Macey Jenkins, Petsworth Elementary; seniors, first, Nicole Johnson; second, Kelsey Bridges;

The GHS students who entered the local fair may choose to additionally enter their projects in the Tidewater Science and Engineering Fair, which will be held on March 10 at Old Dominion University.

Peasley students who placed first or second in the local event may also enter the Tidewater competition, and third-place Peasley winners may compete if there are openings in their category. The Tidewater Fair is not open to elementary-level students.
