Art by three RAL co-op artists—photographer Jeffrey Barsky, oil painter Kimberly Johnson and mixed media artist Sandy Newman—grace the windows of the Rappahannock Art League Art Center, 19 N. Main Street, Kilmarnock, during June.
Barsky, a native of Washington, D.C., started learning photography in the mid-1960s while working at a camera store and for a professional photographer. He enjoys taking photos of landscapes, wildlife, nature, and street photography. He also enjoys printing and framing selected photos, especially in large sizes, because he believes it is so much nicer looking at printed photographs as compared to viewing them on a computer screen. His photo of two birds, “Nice to Meet You” recently won First Place in the RAL May exhibit “Fur, Feathers, Fins, and Scales.”
