The 2020 Virginia Pickleboo Classic pickleball tournament took place last Friday and Saturday in Glen Allen and Henrico. Approximately 500 players from Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, Florida and Pennsylvania participated.
Three Hayes residents brought home medals. Rain on Sunday caused all mixed doubles matches to be postponed.
Lorie Jones of Newport News and Linda Tjossem of Hayes were gold medal winners in Women’s Doubles Novice at the 2020 Virginia Pickleboo Classic pickleball tournament. All ages were combined in that division.Gail Shutt of Hayes and Tracey Crockett of Williamsburg were silver medal winners in 60+ Women’s Doubles 4.0.Dave McCormick of Williamsburg and Rickey Shutt of Hayes, were bronze medal winners in 60+ Men’s Doubles 4.0.
