19th annual MRA Turkey Trot

The 8 a.m. gathering time for the 19th annual Mobjack Rowing Association’s Turkey Trot at Williams Wharf brought temperatures in the 40s and bright blue skies. More than 65 participants gathered for the 8:30 start to run, walk, bike or stroll babies on the 3.9-mile course from Williams Wharf to Town Point Landing and back. Bobby Beasley repeated his win in the running group with a good time of 21:50. All were finished by 9:45 a.m. and said they felt they had adequately prepped their bodies for a day of feasting and family time. MRA president Tim Ulsaker, who has run every Turkey Trot, summed up the day, saying that “this was one of the largest trots in recent years. It would have been our 20th event were it not for COVID. Today’s collection of food gathered to be distributed by Hands Across Mathews was over 350 pounds.”...
