199 finish Sunday’s Daffodil Dash 5K

Peter Ramundo of Manhattan, Kansas, and Charlotte Schuff of Hampton, were the top male and female finishers in Sunday morning’s Daffodil Dash 5K, a race conducted by the Peninsula Track Club. The 5K course was an out-and-back on Ware House Road and is not USATF certified, but was accurately measured and was run correctly by the runners, according to the Peninsula Track Club. A total of 213 runners and walkers entered the 5K race, with 199 participants completing the 5K. Awards went to the top overall three men and women and the top two in each age group. Ramundo was the first across the line in a time of 18:16, with Schuff finishing the race in 20:36. Nicholas Schuff of Hampton (18:35, second place, men), Alexey Popov (19:58, third place, men); 14-year-old Josephine Wilson of Gloucester (23:21, second place, women) and Marie Giles (23:22, third place, women) were the other top overall finishers.
