Zoll Vineyard in Dutton earns gold, silver medals

Zoll Vineyards, a farm-to-table winery located in Dutton, was the recipient of gold medals for two of its wines—the 2020 Unoaked Chardonnay and 2020 Petit Verdot.

Zoll also received three silver medals in the competition for its 2020 Merlot and Hibiscus Watermelon and Pineapple Strawberry Lemonade Sangrias.

The Virginia Wineries Association’s 2022 Governor’s Cup celebration was held on Thursday, March 24 at Richmond’s Main Street Station. Marking its 40th anniversary, the Virginia Governor’s Cup received an unprecedented number of entries from across the commonwealth, a release stated. Regarded as one of the nation’s most stringent wine competitions, gold medals were awarded to 127 wines from 65 Virginia wineries after a series of rigorous blind tastings.
