ZACK H. DUNCAN III

Pastor Zack H. Duncan III, age 81, of Gloucester, went to be with his Lord and Saviour Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at his home in Sassafras after a long illness.

Pastor Duncan has now joined his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Louise Duncan, and other loved ones in his eternal paradise where Jesus has prepared a place for him.

Zack “Lucky” Duncan was born and grew up in Reno, Nev., where he developed a love and deep respect for the Native Americans.

He proudly served in the Army, National Guard and civil service. Zack also went to Bible college in the early 1960s in Missouri and had served as a pastor throughout the years until his retirement in 2006.

He was a very loving and caring pastor, husband, father and friend to all who crossed his path. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by loved ones and friends.

He is survived by his children, Zack H. Duncan IV, Linda Kay Duncan and Lori Ann Javier; grandchildren, Brandy Duncan, Christina Smith, Jason Duncan, Dean Jones, Zack H. Duncan V, Joseph Zoe Javier, Jessica Duncan and Layla Reneé Javier, and great-grandchildren, Emmitte Marie Smith and Ezra Zoe Javier; brother, Donald Duncan and wife Dixie.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Samuel Hyde will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Inurnment will be private.
