Youth poster contest underway

“Where Would We Bee Without Pollinators” is the theme for this year’s national youth poster contest sponsored by the National Association of Conservation Districts, with the contest stressing the importance of pollinators to our ecosystem.

Entries will be accepted by the Tidewater Soil and Water Conservation District from all Mathews, Gloucester and Middlesex youth in grades K-12.

A local winner from each age group will receive a $25 Walmart gift certificate from the Tidewater SWCD. The winning posters will be sent to compete on the state level. State winners will then advance to the national contest.

Poster size must be between 8.5” x 11” and 22” x 28” and any media may be used to create a flat or two-dimensional effect. For complete rules and entry form, contact the Tidewater Soil and Water Conservation District office at 804-699-3482 or visit www.tidewaterswcd.org.

All entries must be received by Sept. 18 to Tidewater SWCD, P.O. Box 677, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
