Yorktown to hold Independence Day Celebration

The public is invited to celebrate Yorktown’s 43rd Independence Day Celebration on Monday, July 4. This free family-friendly event includes activities on Historic Main Street and also at the waterfront at Riverwalk Landing.

Visitors can take advantage of special programming at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown (additional tickets are required for non-residents of York and James City counties and the City of Williamsburg).

The day begins with the Yorktown Independence Day 8K Run/Walk (both virtual and in-person), stepping off at 8 a.m. Registration/T-shirt distribution starts at 7. Medals will be distributed at the finish line for the first 600 registered runners.

The York County Historical Museum is still accepting registrations. The race takes place along the scenic roads and trails of the Yorktown Battlefield. Participants will begin and end on the tour road near York High School. Registration is $40.
