The Watermen’s Museum in Yorktown will host “Tartan, Tie Dye, Bagpipes and Rock” as a fundraiser for the Relay for Life from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 9.
The event will offer a “mosaic of music” featuring regional Celtic, Folk, and Rock bands to include Clan MacCool, Winsome, 12 Shots, Billy Joe Daniel and Rider, closing with Poisoned Dwarf 4:30-5:30, Tin Can Fish Band from 6-7 and RapJack 7:30-9.
Vendors, crafts, and family activities, food and beverages by Chef K and St George’s Brewery will be available on site.
A $10 donation at the gate is suggested, a release said. Those attending the outdoor festival should bring a chair.
Michael Steen of the museum noted that the official opening date is April 1, with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. to celebrate new outdoor exhibits.
Also in April, events include a Folk Jam at 5:30 p.m. April 13, and participation in York County History Day from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 16.
