Yorktown Folk Festival this weekend

The Yorktown Folk Festival, “A Celebration of American Music,” will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Riverwalk Landing on River Street in Yorktown.

Local bands, musicians, storytellers and dancers will perform on four stages. Headliners on Saturday include Rider from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and the Tin Can Fish Band from 7-9 p.m. During the day, there will be performances by Bob Zentz, Shanty Grass, Barnacle Betty, Mermaids Tale, Rose and Sword Dance Academy, and many others.

Sunday’s triple headliners are Kountry Kickers from 5:30-6 p.m., The Burtons from 6-7 p.m. and, Ralph Motley and Friends from 7-9 p.m. Daytime entertainment will include Lords of Misrule, Scotch and Rye, and Jolly Roving Tar.There will be craft demonstrations, artists and other vendors, and food trucks selling their wares.

The festival, sponsored by the York County Commission of the Arts and Yorktown Commemoration Committee, is free and open to the public.
