York County Sheriff’s Office seeking help in case

The York County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help in solving the killing of a 25-year-old Richmond woman whose body was found Saturday, according to public information officer Shelley Ward.

According to Ward, Tyosha Tanique Mitchell’s body was found early Saturday morning on the side of Old Williamsburg Road. It appears that she was forcibly taken from Richmond in the early morning hours that morning, and died at the scene, as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, she said.

The vehicle that is suspected to be involved in this crime is described as a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata (2012-2016). “We are asking anyone in the area of the 2700 Block of Bethel Street, Richmond between the early morning hours of 12:30-5 a.m. or Old Williamsburg Road between 3-5 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, to check their home video systems to look for a car matching this description,” Ward said. “If you have any video matching the description and time frame please let us know.”
