Yoga for Osteoporosis five-part series begins March 26

Beginning later this month and continuing through April, Gloucester Yoga owner Nancy Sessoms will teach a five-part series, Yoga for Osteoporosis.

Sessoms has been practicing yoga for about 15 years and teaching it for 10 years, earning the designation of E-RYT 500 after completed a 500-hour yoga teacher training.

Sessoms is also certified by Dr. Loren Fishman to teach his 12-pose program for osteoporosis and this will be her sixth series. The poses can be adapted for varying levels of physical ability to keep each person safe.

This series is for those who have been diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis, are concerned about falling, want to reduce the risk of bone loss, or would like to maintain or build muscle and skeletal strength.

Registration for the upcoming in-studio five-week series “Yoga for Bone Health” is now underway. Classes will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on the following Saturdays—March 26, April 2, 9, 23 and 30. Class size is limited to seven students. ...
