Mathews Family YMCA participated in the YMCA ages 9-11 soccer tournament held at the Middlesex Sports Complex on Saturday, May 21. In all, 84 children from 10 teams participated, with more than 300 spectators supporting their players, according to District Executive Director Buzz Lambert. Because of the excessive heat, the tournament did not move into championship rounds, he said, but each team was able to play a minimum of three 20-minute games.
