YMCA, Mathews Library, Bay School collaborate on summer camps

The Mathews Family YMCA is partnering with Mathews Memorial Library and Bay School Community Arts Center to offer a variety of children’s programs this summer.

“There is no reason for your child to be bored this summer,” said Carol McCormack, Head of Youth Services at the library. Youngsters who sign up for the YMCA’s Adventure Specialty Camps are also registered for the library’s July program and the August art weeks at the Bay School.

Parents can drop the children off as early as 8:30 a.m. at 49 Maple Avenue (the little white building between Pinecroft Auto and the Diggs School of Dance, across from the library), and the Y will take them to the library and the Bay School for the scheduled programs. “Mathews’ nonprofit organizations offer many wonderful summer programs and it’s a disservice to families for us to compete with each other,” said YMCA program director Candice Parker. “The Y decided this year to incorporate the ...
