Year-round indoor farmers’ market opens at White Marsh

Pure Harvest Market opened March 1 at Shops on Hickory Fork, White Marsh.

Andrew Gardiner, who owns the business with partner Ben Gorrell, said this is a year-round indoor farmers’ market. Gardiner and Gorrell also own Life Enrichment Sciences, LLC, located on Hall Town Road, an aquaponics business they started last fall that grows some of the vegetables and herbs sold at the shop.

In addition to the wide assortment of produce that Gardiner and Gorrell grow with their water-based system that doesn’t rely on dirt, they also provide a space where other local farm producers can market their wares for a fee.

There are lots of vegetables and herbs, as others supply produce, including another aquaponics grower and a hydroponics grower. Displays are also filled with fresh eggs, grass-fed beef, cake and brownie mixes, bath and body products and other items. Since they had some extra space, Gardiner said, they also are selling antique furniture and glassware.
