World’s largest cake walk to be held May 13

Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism and Park Partners, Inc., will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for cake walks on Main Street in Gloucester on Saturday, May 13.

They are looking for 500 “fun-loving, energetic, cake-eating people” to participate, a release stated. There will be over 100 cakes to win, raffle prizes and a professional cake-decorating contest judged by a former “Cake Wars” winner.

This event is a fundraiser for the accessible playground at Woodville Park. The registration fee is $10 per person/$25 per family. After May 1, the fees go up to $15/$30.
