With the arrival of warm weather, roadwork is underway on many of the byways of counties in this region.

Current maintenance projects of the Virginia Department of Transportation include paving and pavement marking Wednesday through Friday on Route 614, Hickory Fork Road, in Gloucester, and paving and shoulder stone placement the same days on Route 608, Hamburg Road and Potato Neck Road in Mathews.

Both projects will involve one-way alternating traffic.

Also, on Route 360 in King and Queen County, VDOT plans to place pavement markers this week near the county lines with King William and Essex counties.
