Work progressing on G-M Free Clinic building

 

Staff and volunteers of the Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic hope to open the doors of its new 9,200-square-foot facility to patients by the end of the month.

 

Great progress has been made inside the new building, which is located across from the Sentara Medical Arts Complex, White Marsh, according to GMFC marketing/development associate Babs Zuhowski.

 

While most of the major construction work inside the building, which used to house Bay Design Group, has been completed, an elevator to take patients to the upstairs administrative offices still needs to be installed, as well as carpeting and flooring, Zuhowski said.

 

Growth at the clinic won’t end with the upgraded building; it will encompass many other facets, according to GMFC executive director Kay Bradley.

 

 

First, the clinic will begin accepting Medicaid patients in February. It is also still moving forward with accreditation to become an ambulatory care center. ...
