Work progresses on age-targeted subdivision in Mathews

 

Construction of Westville Landing, an age-targeted residential subdivision in Mathews Court House, is moving forward rapidly, with the first two single-family houses slated for completion in early 2017 if all goes well.

Mark Rinaldi, spokesman for the Bush Companies of Williamsburg, said that wet weather in May and June caused delays, but since the weather dried out, progress has been “gangbusters.”

Rinaldi said he is currently working on getting a permit for a unit containing four townhouses in the subdivision. He said he hopes crews can get the foundation in before wet weather begins.

With complete build-out expected to take several years, Rinaldi said the subdivision will eventually have 66 single-family units. There will be individual homes, duplexes and townhouses. All of the individual homes and duplexes will be one-story, he said, but some of the townhouses will be two stories.
