Women’s History Month

The stories and accomplishments of Captain Sally Tompkins, above left, and Emma Lee Smith White, two of the county’s most notable women, are presented, and these large portraits of them are displayed overlooking the main floor. In addition, the public is invited to add the names of women of Mathews who have made significant contributions to their community or elsewhere and who are deserving of recognition.
