A Portsmouth woman was charged following a shooting Saturday on Piney Swamp Road that wounded a Gloucester woman.

The Gloucester Sheriff's Office said it responded to a report of three females fighting in the yard of a residence in the 4000 block of Piney Swamp Road at about 2:10 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, the officers found one woman had been shot in the arm.

The victim, a 28-year-old Piney Swamp Road resident, was transported to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital where she was treated for non life-threatening wounds.

The suspect, who the GSO identified as 34-year-old Monique Sashelle Boyette of Portsmouth, was located on the scene and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and reckless handling of a firearm. ...
