Winter sports/activities start Nov. 8 at MHS

Plans are underway for the start of the winter sports/activity season at Mathews High School. Boys’ and girls’ basketball, wrestling, cheer, indoor track, forensics and scholastic bowl begin Monday, Nov. 8, according to MHS athletic director Al Thomas.

All participants must turn in a physical and related athletic department paperwork before that date to be eligible for winter sports tryouts. Athletic forms packets, which include the physical form, can be picked up in the front offices at Mathews High School and Thomas Hunter Middle School. Completed forms must be turned in at the receptionist’s window at MHS.

Scholastic bowl and forensics do not require a physical, but the Emergency Contact Form and Athletic Acknowledgement Form are required as is the $40 Pay-to-Play fee.
