Winfred Scott (Scotty) Fary, 56, lifelong resident of Deltaville, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doran Winfred (Puddin) Fary and Mary Rebecca Daniel Fary, and sister, Patricia (Patsy) Fary Rountree.

Survivors include his wife, Lori Batley Fary; son, Robert Doran (Robby) Fary of Richmond; sister, Brenda Fary Dorsey and husband Larry of Hartfield, Va., and a host of extended family members and special friends.

Scotty previously had worked numerous years for the Virginia ABC stores out of Williamsburg, Mathews, and Gloucester. Once meeting Scotty, he was normally never forgotten as friendships were made instantly. He was well known for his infectious laugh, smile, personality, jolly demeanor, humor, and special hugs.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Philippi Christian Church in Deltaville.
