Wine Walk to be held on Gloucester’s Main Street

The Gloucester Main Street Association will hold its first Wine Walk from on Thursday, July 16, at participating retailers in Gloucester Court House.

Participating businesses will open their shops from 4 to 8 o’clock that evening as tasting rooms, said Ashley Gilmartin, executive director of the GMSA. Non-drinkers and designated drivers are also welcome to participate, she said, but only attendees with the special wristband and tasting glass will be served alcohol.

Participants can sample 12 wines from a number of countries, including whites, reds and sparkling varieties.

Sampling will be held at Kelsick Specialty Market, Split Enz Salon, The Silver Box, Up South, Yolanda’s and Wilton Cottage & Garden. Refreshments will be served at some locations, Gilmartin said, and many Main Street restaurants will offer specials that night.
