WILMA ‘WILLIE’ MARIE JARRACH

Wilma “Willie” Marie Jarrach, age 88, of Gloucester, reached the end of her wonderful life on Aug. 10, 2022 at home with her daughters, Cathy Gallo and Cindy Meier, by her side. Born in New York City on July 31, 1934, she lived with her parents, Camillo and Lena Rossetti (née Purro) in Italian Harlem when nearly every street around Lexington Ave. was a different flavor of Italian culture. During World War II the family lived in Bristol, Conn., and later returned to NYC where Wilma completed her education, her brother Richard “Butch” was born, and she met and married Harry A.

Schwartz. Harry was a U.S. Army veteran and builder who with Wilma built a life on Long Island, N.Y., and had three beautiful children, Christopher, Cathy, and Cindy. A heart attack in 1966 took Harry away from the family, but Wilma and the children with loving support from friends and family thrived. In 1972, Wilma met and married Philip G. Jarrach and in 1974, the family was complete with the birth of Stephanie. Later in life, the couple moved to Florida for the “Golden Years.” Together they traveled the country. Wilma loved children and bright colors. She loved people and she loved helping. She is survived and will be missed by her brother, Richard Rossetti and his wife Susan; her daughter, Cathy and husband Nick Gallo; her daughter, Cindy and husband Thomas Meier, and daughter, Stephanie Jarrach and son Hunter Pugleise, along with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be private. Arrangements under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home.
