Willie Winfred Foster, 86, of Wake, passed away peacefully at his home and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 17, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of River of Life Church, Topping, where he served as an Elder, Deacon and in numerous other capacities.

He was predeceased by his parents, Loyd and Lucile Foster; brothers, Weldon, Delbert, Loyd and Elsworth; a sister, Margaret South, and a great-grandson, Cherub.

Willie is survived by his wife, Nellie Foster; children, Faye Sutherlin (Tom), Terry Lawson-Roppolo (Edward), Mark Foster (Marilyn), Paul Foster (Sylvia); step-daughter, Jessie Ann Thrift (Bill); sisters, Jane Hogge and Alvine Brown (Charles); 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lower United Methodist Church, Hartfield. Interment was in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 19 at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda.
