Willie Edward Dixon of Mathews, passed away Jan. 8, 2021 at Riverside Convalescent Center, Saluda.

Willie was born on Nov. 12, 1936. He was the second child of the late Frank and Dorothy Dixon. Willie attended Thomas Hunter High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mathews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Frank Dixon; three brothers, and a grandson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Esther Dixon; daughters, Barbara Dixon and Carolyn Gaines (Antwain); sons, Vincent Dixon (Cathy), Gerald Crittenden, and Dennis Hall; sisters, Shirley Billups (Edwin), Betty Ann Peyton (Melvin); brothers, Richard Dixon (Brenda), Stanley Dixon (Elenora), Charles Dixon (Diana), and Terry Dixon (Alice); 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; special friends, Kerry Smith, Anderson Willis, and Dukey Willis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will truly miss him.

A viewing will be held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16 at First Baptist Church, Mathews. A private funeral service will be held for the family, Sunday, Jan. 17 at the church. All COVID-19 guidelines will be followed.
