Willie Ann Stubblefield West, 86, of Ware Neck, Va., passed away on Dec. 13, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucky L. West; her mother, Estelle Allen Smith; her father, William Stubblefield; her stepfather, James L. Smith Sr., and her son-in-law, Jimmy Heck.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Heck and Debbie Thompson (Roy), both of Ware Neck. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Ray Belvin of Deltaville, Va., Chris Belvin (Amy) of Tappahannock, Va., and Laurie Forsythe (Jeff) of Marion Center, Pa.; seven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed life as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, especially getting ready for and spending holidays with family, and gardening. Willie was known in the neighborhood as a rescuer and nurse and all the kids were delighted when she would take care of their needs in her gentle caring way. She was a member of Singleton United Methodist Church, where she was in charge of the nursery for years. 

Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Calvin J. Griffin will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
