Williamsburg man arrested on charges in connection with Gloucester Point shooting

A 30-year-old Williamsburg man was taken into custody Friday and faces multiple charges stemming from a shooting incident late last month in Gloucester Point, according to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.

At 2:47 a.m. on March 26, deputies were dispatched to the 7500 block of Riverpark Road in reference to a shooting. Deputies discovered that an altercation had taken place and multiple shots had been allegedly been fired by a lone male suspect. A vehicle and an occupied residential structure had sustained damage from the gunfire. There were no injuries during the incident.

Deputies collected witness statements and ballistic evidence. The GCSO Criminal Investigations Division was assigned to assist with this case.

The male suspect was identified as Brandon Lee Briggs. GCSO investigators were able to locate Briggs and executed a search warrant at the 100 block of Magruder Avenue in James City County with assistance from the James City County Police SWAT Team and Criminal...
