Christian Williams, a rising senior at Mathews High School and a pitcher for the U.S. Elite 17U National team, allowed seven hits and two walks, striking out 10 batters as his team defeated the Chicago Cubs Scout Team, 1-0, on Sunday in the 2019 Perfect Game 17U World Series in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Williams, who has committed to pitch for Texas Christian University after graduating next year, worked consistently in the 86-88 mph range and complemented his fastball with a 79-mph curveball, according to a Tweet from the U.S. Elite 2020 International Scout Team.
