Ruby Williams, a 2019 graduate of Gloucester High School, completed her freshman season of cross country at Virginia State University on Oct. 24.

The VSU women finished as the runners-up of the Central Collegiate Athletic Conference and Williams placed 28th in the conference championships with a time of 23:02.6.

In other results, Williams was 24th in the Christopher Newport Invitational in 27:53.28 and the Trojans were fifth overall, and she was sixth in the VSU Invitational on Sept. 20 with a time of 22:33.37.
