William T. Nuttall, 93, of Schley, passed away on July 21, 2017.

He was born in Schley, Virginia, on Dec. 26, 1923. Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley M. Nuttall; his parents, Luther M. and Edith R. Nuttall; brother, E. Rudolph Nuttall, and sister, Eliza N. Ottarson.

He is survived by his sons, William Wayne Nuttall and his wife Sandra, and Gene T. Nuttall; his brother, Everett M. Nuttall; four grandchildren, Christy Nuttall Hurst, Amanda Nuttall Horsley, William Wayne Nuttall Jr., and Megan Nuttall South, and five great-grandchildren, Caleb Horsley, Thomas Horsley, Tanner Hurst, Makenna Nuttall, and Dustin Nuttall. 

Billy served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from the Public Works Department at the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown, Virginia. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Treasurer, and choir member. He was an honorary member of Botetourt Lodge No. 7 for 60 years where he served as Secretary, Master in 1963, and the Lodge Instructor of Work.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful CNAs and NAs at Gloucester House for their love and care during Dad’s stay and also, Shirley Dodson-McAdoo, Mark Fusco, and Heartland Hospice.

The family received friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 23 at Andrews Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services were held at Beulah Baptist Church on Monday, July 24 at 10 a.m. Burial was in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites.
