William Preston Collier, 82, of Mobjack, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016.

Bill was born to Birdie Mae and Moscoe H. Collier of Rome, Georgia. He attended the Apprentice School and retired from the Newport News Shipyard after 41 years. 

Bill was predeceased by his parents; brother, Richard Collier of Newport News, Virginia; son, Gregory, and daughter, Angela, both of Mobjack.

He is survived by his wife, Vera M. Collier; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa C. and Kenny R. Howlett; granddaughter, Brittany and her husband Aaron C. West; great-granddaughter, Kensington K. West; sister, Annette Bowls; brother, Van Collier, and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was loved by all he knew and will be sorely missed by all of us.

A graveside funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 21 at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton, Virginia.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, handled the arrangements.
